Moldova Noua

Moldova Nouă is a city in Caras-Severin County, Banat, Romania, consisting of the towns of Măcești, Moldova Nouă, Moldova Veche and Moldovița. It has a population of over 13,000 inhabitants.

From the point of view of historical antiquity, the town is, as its name suggests, quite recent. It was documented for the first time in 1777. Much older is Moldova Veche, an area that today belongs administratively to Moldova Nouă, and on whose territory traces of Neolithic habitation were found, but also of Dacian mining and Romanian.
