The open-air museum welcomes its guests with monuments of popular architecture that represent those for four ethnographic areas of Maramureș County: Chioar, Historical Maramureș, Lăpuș and Codru.
As he enters the monumental gate, specific to Maramureş, the visitor is transposed into an archaic universe, with the smell of freshly cut grass and old wood, each house telling a story about old times and people who lived with simplicity and faith.
The traditional house is the nucleus of the household, which also includes various annexes, such as: the barn, the stable, the barn, the pig and poultry coop. All of this is presented in our museum, along with the technical installations (mill, wine press, batoz) reconstructing the image of the authentic Maramure village.
The interior of the house is a functional ensemble that reflects the occupation, social status and stylistic conception of the people. The oven, the furniture, the decoration pieces show how people lived in those times.
Therefore, we look forward to welcoming you to the "Village of Villages" on the Hill of Flowers, to relax with your loved ones in a quiet and picturesque setting.
